ARAGONA HOUSE
RELIEF
PROJECT
The ARAGONA HOUSE is a flat attic with mansard, in a building of years 50 in the historical center of Palermo. Inside dominates the imposing presence of a semi-suspended chassis cross-shaped reinforced concrete. From appearing obstacle for the configuration of the spaces, the chassis becomes characterizing element of the entre plan. Partly as spatial limit and partly as a viable spaces where access to the attic. Also part of the concrete structure has been integrated becoming ramp of the staircase of connection between the two levels. It was enhanced the contrast between existing and the new, leaving exposed a large part of the cross beams. The contrast is accentuated by a side wall of blocks of limestone, and from other from wooden paneling and stone cladding.
